On Thursday, March 24, I sat down with Jane Lindholm at the Vermont Public Radio studios in Colchester. We talked about the total surprise of the storm, the reason the forecasters lost this enormous, fast-moving storm out over the ocean, and about the terrible destruction and loss of life on the coast. Because it was VPR, we zeroed in on what happened in Vermont, but I was impressed that may of the callers were from out of state. I hear time and again from people of their direct experiences with the storm, or stories handed down from parents and grandparents. Thirty-Eight lives on in the consciousness of this region. Listen to our conversation.
